Jose Mourinho has made an impassioned plea to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
The Portuguese oversaw yet another loss for the Blues, this time at the hands of Leicester City on Monday night, forcing them down to 16th position on the Premier League table.
In the wake of the 2-1 defeat, a defiant Mourinho begged Abramovich and the Chelsea board to consider keeping him in the role as he strives to clean up the scattered mess of the derailed reigning champions.
"We can't finish top four, but we can still finish top six because so many teams are dropping points," he told BBC Sport.
"But at the moment we're in a zone where I feel ashamed."
On his future he added: "I want to stay. I hope Mr Abramovich and the board want me to stay."
This season, the Blues have won just four matches, drawn on three occasions and have been beaten nine times in what has been a disastrous opening four months of the 2015/16 campaign.
