Unbeaten first season unlikely according Gold Coast keeper Vanstrattan

Gold Coast United goalkeeper Jess Vanstrattan does not agree with club owner Clive Palmer's goals.

The businessman wants his new A-League franchise to go through the season undefeated and win the title in just their first season but Vanstrattan knows that is an unlikely scenario.

"We want to be successful and the goal is obviously to win the league, but undefeated . . . that's a big expectation," said Vanstrattan.

"We have to be realistic. We're a new team and we haven't played together.

"I'm more focused on being successful than having the goal of going through the season undefeated.

"If we get to the end of the season and we've won the league, whether we lose a couple of matches along the way, I don't think that will matter."
