Ugandan striker Sseppuya signs with North Queensland Fury

North Queensland Fury have signed Uganda international Eugene Sseppuya on a one-year deal.

The 27-year old striker has joined the Fury from FK Sudova in Lithuania after arriving in Townsville on Saturday and completing a medical.

Sseppuya has experience playing in America in MLS with the Colorado Rapids as well as stints in Serbia with clubs such as Vojvodina and Cukaricki.

Fury head of football operations Robbie Middleby said it was great to add another striker to their playing list.

"This year we play 30 fixtures and it's important we have a quality strike-force who can cover all eventualities," he said.

"Eugene came highly recommended to us from our overseas contacts and from our head coach, Franz Straka.

"He is a different type of player to Dyron (Daal), Chris (Payne) and David (Williams) and his inclusion should help the team score the number of goals needed to have a successful season."
