The Football Association have released a statement saying that a written response from UEFA regarding the recent ban imposed on England striker Wayne Rooney will not be received for at least another week.
The Manchester United star has been suspended for three international matches following his petulant kick on Montenegro's Miodrag Dzudovoic in their final Euro2012 qualifier but the FA has not yet received the reasons why, which are expected tomorrow.
However, it appears as though UEFA have delayed their response to the English FA who are set to appeal the ban as soon as they have all the relevant documentation.
"The FA has today been advised by UEFA that we may not be provided with the written reasons regarding Wayne Rooney's three match suspension for another week at a minimum," revealed the FA statement.
"Once the reasons are received, The FA will determine on any appeal after discussions with Fabio Capello and Wayne Rooney."
