UEFA president Michel Platini insists Italian football is not in crisis.
Platini, who admitted this season he wanted to hand the Champions League trophy to Juventus in Rome, said: "You cannot say Italian football is in crisis. The national team are the world champions.
"In Italy there is the fear of no longer having a fourth team in the Champions League, but there are 52 national associations who would like to have a second team.
"English football certainly has a different philosophy: their teams play more attacking, scoring goals. They play first think later, whereas in Italy you plan, then play."
