UEFA open investigation into Man City's claims of Porto misconduct

UEFA have begun investigation proceedings into an official complaint from Manchester City directed at FC Porto.

City lodged the complaint after Thursday's Europa League win over Porto at Estadio do Dragao regarding racial abuse from the crowd toward striker Mario Balotelli and the objections are now being looked into.

"Following a complaint lodged by Manchester City FC, UEFA has today opened disciplinary proceedings against FC Porto for the improper conduct of supporters their UEFA Europa League round of 32 first-leg match against Manchester City FC last week," read a UEFA statement.

"The UEFA control and disciplinary body will deal with the case on 29 March."
