UEFA fine with behavior of CSKA Moscow fans in Man City clash

UEFA say they have no problem with the behavior of the small amount of CSKA Moscow supporters who showed up for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Manchester City.

The Khimki Arena stadium ban for CSKA fans is still in place following a number of repeated offences which meant that there was supposed to be nobody present in the stands in the Group E clash last night.

City complained after the 2-2 draw with captain Vincent Kompany asking why there were people allowed to enter but UEFA have stepped in and confirmed that those in attendance had permission to do so.

"The game was still played behind closed doors - we have sponsors that get tickets to every game even when sanctions are involved, as do staff and the parents of the ball boys, and that was the situation yesterday," said UEFA's chief of press Pedro Pinto.

"As far as the corporate guests are concerned we cannot control what they wear or if they take scarves or flags but there was no inappropriate behaviour or banners.

"Less than three per cent of the stadium was used and the club do not get gate receipts and enjoy the product that is the Champions League - they were still penalised."
