UEFA have released their club coefficient rankings based on the last five seasons.
The teams are scored on their performances in the Champions League and Europa League.
The rankings system works as follows:

Champions League
First qualifying round elimination – 0.5 points
Second qualifying round elimination – 1 point
Group stage bonus participation – 4 points
Group stage win – 2 points
Group stage draw – 1 point
Round of 16 bonus participation – 4 points
***Teams are awarded an extra point every time they reach a knockout stage of the tournament.
Europa League
First qualifying round elimination – 0.25 points
Second qualifying round elimination – 0.5 points
Third qualifying round elimination – 1 point
Play-off elimination – 1.5 points
Group stage win – 2 points
Group stage draw – 1 point
***Clubs are guarenteed a minimum two points for qualifying for the group stage and an additional point for each knockout round that they reach.
Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid were ranked at the top of the list. Los Blancos have won 3 out of the last 5 Champions League titles.
The second and third spots belonged to Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Manchester City were the highest ranked English team in ninth spot.
Arsenal (11), Chelsea (14), and Manchester United (16) rounded out the English contingent included on the list.
