UEFA dismiss Schalke appeal regarding Galatasaray's Drogba

UEFA have rejected the appeal lodged by German club Schalke regarding the eligibility of Didier Drogba to play for Galatasaray.

The Chelsea icon signed with the Turkish club from Shanghai Shenhua at the end of January despite still being contracted to the Chinese Super League outfit.

Drogba started for Gala' as they drew 1-1 with Schalke in Istanbul in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg on February 20 and the Bundesliga outfit were seeking reasons as to why the Ivory Coast striker was allowed to play.

But UEFA have decided to dismiss the protest: "Having examined all the documents of the case, the Control and Disciplinary Body decided to reject the protest lodged by Schalke."
