Uefa chief Michel Platini hopes a third candidate will challenge Sepp Blatter and Jerome Champagne in next year's Fifa presidential election, reports BBC Sport. Blatter is the president of world football's governing body and had said he would stand down in 2015 but changed his mind and is seeking re-election.
Asked who he would back for the election, Platini said: "Neither. I hope others will run.
"Another European candidate would have very little chance of winning."
Speaking to French radio station Europe 1, Platini reiterated that he would not be supporting Blatter.
"The image of Fifa is very, very, very bad so that's why I think it would be good that he [Blatter] stops, but I don't think he wants to," added Platini.
