Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler could be on his way to Liverpool as a replacement for the want-away Xabi Alonso.

The Daily Mail says Inler's agent says Liverpool made enquiries last year but have so far not made an approach about him becoming Alonso's replacement.

Arsenal have also tracked him but the agent says he's very happy in Italy.
