Udinese have confirmed new striker Fabio Quagliarella has penned a deal through to 2012.

"This is a clear sign that the club believes in this squad, who will have to prove that they are competitive in a championship which promises to be very difficult," said sports director Pietro Leonardi.

"Some players are also keen on leaving, and we will not block them."

Slovenia goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has also penned a new deal with Udinese to 2012.
