Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has played down expectations for this season, despite his team's superb progress.

"We are only thinking about survival and that remains our objective," he told Corriere dello Sport. "This project has only just started and we are a small club that has to work with youngsters.

"When you have players lacking experience you can never guarantee consistency, but we will roll on with our heads held high.

"First we need mathematical safety and then we will start to enjoy ourselves and look for something bigger."
