Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo is set to buy into Espanyol.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Gino Pozzo has answered the call of Espanyol's majority shareholder Dani Sanchez Libre to help raise capital at the club.

Pozzo will apparently invest €4m of the €6m Sanchez Libre has in mind and will become the club's third biggest shareholder.

The Pozzo family has long-standing links with Catalonia after buying the Casals business and Gino has lived in Barcelona for many years.

"My children support Barca, but they always watch Udinese on TV with the shirt of Toto Di Natale," he said.

"The traditions must be respected."
