Udinese hope to trump a raft of Premiership clubs for Kosice midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Matic's agents were due to hold talks last month with several Premiership clubs, including Manchester United, Tottenham and Sunderland.

But the young Serb broke bones in his foot during the U21 European Championships and that put everything on hold.

However, Udine sources say Udinese are attempting this week to settle terms with Kosice over a fee for Matic in the £1.5 million region.
