Udinese defender Damiano Ferronetti admits quitting Roma was the best thing he could've done for his career.

Ferronetti has been outstanding for Udinese this season and agrees with former teammate Daniele de Rossi, that Roma do not take care of their local players.

He said: "I compliment De Rossi for the comments. They made me happy. And unfortunately it's true that in the Roman environment it is difficult for young players succeed. This is Roma.

"The environment is both its strength and its weakness. I'm still not a disappointed to be here. I am happy."
