Udinese have confirmed the sale of Gaetano D'Agostino to Fiorentina.
D'Agostino has been a regular for Udinese since moving from Messina in 2006.
The former Roma midfielder enjoyed his best season in 2008-09, with 11 goals in 36 appearances, and was heavily pursued by Juventus and Real Madrid before both were reportedly put off by the hefty transfer fee.
It has not been disclosed how much Fiorentina have shelled out for the 27-year-old Italy international, but it is thought to be in the region of nine million euros.
A statement on the Udinese website read: "Udinese Calcio announce they have reached an agreement with ACF Fiorentina for the sale of midfielder, Gaetano D'Agostino."
D'Agostino made his Italy debut last summer and has five caps for his country but failed to make the World Cup squad.
