UAE prepared to scrap for result despite qualifying chances

Although their hopes of qualifying for South Africa 2010 are all but over, UAE are determined to fight for a positive result in Riyadh tonight.

If they cannot overcome Saudi Arabia, UAE's World Cup hopes will be dashed but they remain focused on playing well for the people of the United Arab Emirates.

"We are ready for the game against Saudi Arabia despite that setback against DPR Korea," said UAE team manager Fahd Ali.

"Our players had a good game on Saturday but they were not lucky and did not get a positive result.

"We have asked the players to continue their good form. We are representing the UAE and we must get a positive result regardless if we have any chance to qualify or not."
