England U21 boss Gareth Southgate has withdrawn his name from the running for the England manager's role on an interim basis.
Southgate was considered to be an obvious pick to manage the Three Lions squad on a short-term basis while the Football Association carry on their search for Roy Hodgson's long-term successor.
However, according to the Daily Express, Southgate is set to snub the FA's advances leaving the race for the England job wide open.
Southgate is currently happy in his role with the Young Lions and does not want to be seen merely as a 'stop-gap' for the senior job.
