Davide Santon suggests Newcastle United's rivalry with Sunderland is much bigger than Inter Milan and AC Milan's.
The Magpies left-back used to play for the Nerazzurri so is well-versed to comment and his belief is that the Tyne-Wear derby outweighs the competitiveness of the San Siro combatants.
"The Milan derby is a very important game but not like this one," Santon told BBC Newcastle.
"Here there is more rivalry, everybody thinks about the game, it's fantastic."
Newcastle, who sits 10th on the Premier League table, heads across to the Stadium of Light this Sunday to take on the 13th-placed Black Cats following the 1-1 draw at Sports Direct Arena and the Toon's 1-0 away win last season.
