Manchester City sports chief Txiki Begiristain is working on bringing Pep Guardiola to the Etihad.

Sport says Begiristain has made it a priority to bring former Barcelona coach Guardiola to City next season, despite competition from PSG and Chelsea.

The former Barca sports chief has told his board appointing Guardiola is too good an opportunity to pass up, no matter the new deal Roberto Mancini signed last season.

In City's favour is the chaos at Chelsea and also PSG's owners being close to Jorge Mendes, the agent of Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.
