Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is keen on Sampdoria star Mauro Icardi.

Samp legend Mancini was in the stands on the weekend to see his old club defeat AS Roma, with Icardi again catching the eye.

"Icardi made a beautiful goal, he moves well. I liked him," said Mancini.

It's understood Mancini made a check on the Argie after recommendation from sports chief Txiki Begiristain, who first signed Icardi while in charge of Barcelona.
