Manchester City will push Liverpool to sell Raheem Sterling this week.
The Sun on Sunday says City will step up their interest in Sterling when transfer chief Txiki Begiristain returns from holiday.
The Reds are unlikely to budge on their £50million valuation of the England winger - an amount which is eventually expected to be matched by City.
But Berigistain is confident that he will be able to convince Liverpool to lower their asking price before they are forced to pay full whack for the player.
Liverpool have already turned down two bids for Sterling from the two-time Premier League champions.
