Manchester City chief Txiki Begiristain is delighted to have secured Kevin de Bruyne to a new deal.

The Belgium international has penned an extension worth £275,000-a-week that keeps him at the Etihad until 2023.

Begiristain admits De Bruyne has become such a huge part of what manager Pep Guardiola is trying to achieve.

He said: "Kevin's new deal is great news for our club.

"He has shown this season how important he is to the team and has been integral in everything we've done so far.

"We are thrilled he has committed his long-term future to Manchester City."
