FC Twente defender Douglas is waiting on the margins over a mooted move to Newcastle United.

The Journal says Newcastle remain hopeful of signing the defender, though, and the transfer has only got as far as discussions over a fee for the player.

Douglas and his representatives will only join the board members of FC Twente and Newcastle for talks once a price has been agreed.
