The Football Association took action against Wayne Rooney for swearing into a TV camera during a goal celebration in the match against West Ham, but the television watchdog appears to be more lenient. Ofcom ruled on Monday that his outburst was "not clearly audible" during the live broadcast, adding that the television "camera cut away from the scene as soon as it became clear that (his) behaviour was inappropriate".
But Ofcom did concede Rooney's behaviour as "unfortunate as well as unexpected."
