Minority owner Drew Carey says the plan is to take MLS club Seattle Sounders global.
The American TV star says the management of the Sounders have big plans for the Cascadia club both on and off the field but admits it will be tough with the North American league and their salary cap protocol.
He admitted the target is going to be hard to achieve, "but down the road that's what we're working towards.""[We not only want to] win the MLS cup, but be competitive worldwide - be the top team in the world," Carey told the Washington Post.
And Carey said to become one of the leaders in US soccer, risks will have to be taken to get the Sounders at the forefront of the sport.
"For sports, you have to be willing to sit down and be willing to risk anything," he added.
