Sunderland defender Michael Turner insists they deserved their draw with Aston Villa.
Turner felt a Villa win would have been harsh on his side, who finish October having tasted defeat just once during the month.
"It was an entertaining game and one we'd liked to have won but it wasn't to be.
"But we showed that fighting spirit again and that's something we've done a few times this year.
"We did well to get back into the game and the only disappointing thing is we didn't go on to win.
"It was great to score late on because I don't think we deserved to lose the game," he told safc.com.
