Turner back in action as Norwich get set for survival quest

Michael Turner is fit and firing as Norwich City prepare for the Premier League season run-in.

The central defender has been sidelined since January 1 with a hamstring injury but got through a reserve game earlier this week and is now looking to put his best foot forward for the Canaries.

Turner has given manager Chris Hughton a selection headache ahead of the weekend's home clash with his former club Sunderland and the 30-year old is eager to do everything in his power to help the Norfolk club push away from the bottom three.

"There are good defenders in our squad," Turner told the club's official website.

"There will be four fit centre-halves now so there is going to be good competition for places, so whoever plays is going to have to perform to keep the shirt.

"It's a huge run of games we've got coming up. We have shown at home that we're capable of beating some of the best teams in the league, so it's important that we get back to that."

Norwich are currently sitting 15th on the league table on 29 points, four clear of the Black Cats who are in 18th place.
