Turn me loose! James Brown tipped as future Gold Coast captain

Gold Coast United hero James Brown is being tipped as a future club captain by senior teammate Glen Moss.

Brown thumped home a screamer to earn Gold Coast a point in their opening game of the new A-League season against Wellington Phoenix.

Moss says the talented attacker has plenty to offer Gold Coast, revealing to tribalfootball.com: "James Brown is a real standout.

"He puts in 100% at every training session and sets a good example for the rest of our young team to follow- hence the reason Miron (Bleiberg) has selected him in the leadership group.

"He could be a future captain of this club."

Moss says the home players were delighted with the turnout on the weekend, with the crowd figure significantly higher than last season's average gates.

"We've been working overtime in the community this preseason and hopefully that may help put bums on seats.

"The boys were impressed with the vocal turnout on Sunday and really hope our support grows over the season.

"The club has dropped ticket prices which is fantastic."
