Tuncay targets Euro return for Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough new boy Tuncay has vowed to fire the club back into Europe next season.

The 25-year-old Turkey international worked with his team-mates for the first time on Wednesday after jetting in to their Austrian training camp the previous evening.

Tuncay said: "My aim was to play in Europe one day and I have done that in previous seasons.

"It is also very important for me to play in the Premier League and that, too, is going to happen.

"But I want to get Middlesbrough back into Europe. That is my target.

"I am very ambitious to win things and achieve success, as I know Middlesbrough are, so I can promise I will do my very best for the club and the supporters.

"I believe my playing style will suit Middlesbrough and the way that (manager) Gareth Southgate wants the team to play. I think we will be ideal for each other.

"I am competitive, but I think that I will bring speed and a hard-working attitude to the team. I will always give 100%."
