Tuncay Sanli wants a permanent deal at Bolton Wanderers.
His time with Wolfsburg was troublesome as the manager who signed him was promptly sacked.
He said: "I signed for Steve McClaren, he gave me a couple of days off and when I came back he was gone.
"Everything collapsed after that. It's hard to explain how difficult that time was. The most important thing was to come back to the Premier League. I am at home here."
Tuncay had one last hurdle to get over before joining Bolton - a long week spent in Germany, waiting for a work permit.
He groaned: "That was one of the hardest times of my life. I woke up every day, just waiting on the call.
"I didn't expect to play against Macclesfield [in the Carling Cup in midweek] because I had not trained, but it went well and I scored. The first game is always important.
"I want to contribute as much as I can, I want to stay here. I really want to do well for Bolton and make them want to keep me."
