West Ham United winger Matt Jarvis believes Wigan Athletic's FA Cup triumph last season could pave the way fore of the same in the future.
The lowly Latics, who were eventually relegated from the Premier League last season, beat highly-rated Manchester City in the FA Cup final and Jarvis is hoping the Hammers can replicate that form this season.
"What Wigan did in beating Manchester City to lift the FA Cup has made clubs like us realise it can be done now - that trophies are not the preserve of the so-called big boys," he told reporters.
"Our first aim will be to go on a winning spree in the Premier League so that when the cup competitions come around, we'll be able to hit the ground running.
"We have ambitious players here. There isn't one of us who does not want to win a trophy."
