Defender Kieran Trippier has stated that competition for places at Tottenham is bringing the best out of the players.
Trippier was signed from Burnley during the summer but the defender has had regular first team football hard to come by in the Premier League due to the outstanding form of Kyle Walker.
Trippier is not complaining though and instead believes that the competition for places at White Hart Lane is actually bringing out the best in him as well as the rest of the Spurs' squad and it is evidenced by the fact they are sitting third on the Premier League table.
The right back told Tottenham's official website: "Kyle has done brilliantly since the start of the season and I've been given my chances too. It's important that I keep getting 90 minutes under my belt like I did at Colchester and give my best for the team.
"It keeps everyone fresh and on their toes – there's competition in every position in this team now and that's great because it only makes you a better player and you can push each other on.
"Not only that, we've got a lot of players who can play in different positions too. Look at Eric Dier for example – he slots in at centre-back if needed, so that's a massive bonus for us as well."
