Sefanja Davids, the cousin of former Tottenham star Edgar, along with former Walsall goalkeeper Bertrand Bossu and ex-Cardiff striker Iwan Redan will spend the next few days training with Aberdeen in a bid to win a move to Pittodrie.
Bossu is a free agent after leaving Walsall at the end of last season, while striker Redan is also available on a free transfer after being released by Willem II.
Calderwood says Davids has been recommended to him and he believes the Dutchman could prove a valuable addition to the squad.
"He is a left-sided central defender who comes highly recommended," Calderwood told the club's official website.
"He'll need to get used to the pace here but he can certainly play."
