Chelsea have shelled out over £40 MILLION in compensation fees to their last four managers.
The Daily Mail says Chelsea are set to pay out a staggering £40million in compensation to their last four managers by the time they settle with their last two men in charge - Avram Grant and Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Claudio Ranieri was handed £1.7m when he was replaced by Jose Mourinho in 2004. When Mourinho parted company in the autumn of 2007 his contract was paid up in full - £18m.
Grant's compensation is in the hands of his lawyers but Grant feels his contract should also be paid in full - £7m.
Scolari signed a three-year deal worth £6.25m per year last summer and the Brazilian is likely to claim for the outstanding £15m in full.
That would make it £40 in compensation for Chelsea's last four managers.
