TRIBAL TRENDS - TRANSFERS: Arsenal line-up Alexis replacement; Man Utd given Bale price; Surprise suitor for Liverpool's Can;

With the amount of rumours swirling around at this time of year, even after the summer transfer window, it is sometimes difficult to decipher the truth.

These are matters of importance.

With all the transfer talk now directed at the January winter market, there are still enormous amounts of speculation swirling around Europe and the UK.

Not to worry however, because here at Tribalfootball, we have broken down the week's hottest transfer rumours, and inform you whether you should believe the paper talk or not.

Alexis Sanchez -Arsenal

Clubs Interested: PSG

Don Balón has reported that Lionel Messi has advised his good friend Alexis Sanchez to join PSG.

Like the Parisians need anymore firepower after signing Neymar and Kylian Mbappe over the summer.

But Messi apparently feels his former Barcelona teammate would benefit from playing alongside the aforementioned pair as well as Edinson Cavani.

Hmm. Why Messi would want to strengthen his Champions League rivals is beyond me. Must just be a good friend!

Sanchez and PSG have popped up across various publications since the summer window closed. Whether that is Sanchez's desire to join them or vice versa remains to be seen.

Let's see how PSG are travelling in the Champions League by January because at the moment it doesn't look like they need anymore help.

Likelihood:Arsenal would love if he did

Anthony Martial - Manchester United

Clubs Interested: Arsenal

TMW says Manchester United have rebuffed Arsenal's first attempt to get a done deal for Anthony Martial.

And do you blame United?

Martial has come into his own lately after an up and down first two seasons at Old Trafford. He has yet to secure a starting spot, instead rotating with Marcus Rashford. But when he has got on the pitch, he has been something to behold. In nine total appearances, the Frenchman has scored five goals and provided six assists.

But as mentioned, Martial hasn't tied down that starting spot. How long will this rotation policy satisfy the 21-year-old? Obviously his plan is to beat out Rashford, but the precocious Englishman is United's Golden Boy.

If Martial still spends considerable time on the bench, no amount goals will save him from wanting to leave. And that's where Arsenal come in.

Likelihood: There is potential

Gareth Bale - Real Madrid

Clubs Interested: Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur

El Confidencialclaims Real Madrid are finally ready to sell Gareth Bale.

Los Blancos are willing to part with the Welshman, but only if they recoup the entire amount they paid for Bale.

That is £86m in case you had forgotten.

Back when Real paid the sum to Tottenham it was a world-record, but ahhh, how times have changed.

Perez and the Real board are finished with Bale being constantly injured and to be fair, you can understand why.

They have young, talented players waiting to fill Bale's boots and walking away from him without losing a cent would represent a mighty fine piece of business.

United have shown they're willing to pay this amount of money for players. And if the report is to be believed, expect them to do so. Spurs on the other hand…

Likelihood: Finally Bale in Red!

Arsenal

Players Interested In: Thomas Lemar, Julian Draxler

The Sun says Arsenal are resigned to losing Alexis Sanchez and they would have accept a low-offer in January than nothing in the summer.

I reckon they're probably onto something there. So what do they do?

Well, they have two options. One, Monaco winger Thomas Lemar. Two, PSG's Julian Draxler.

There interest in Lemar is well known. Had things played out differently on deadline day, Sanchez would be at Manchester City and Lemar would be at the Emirates.

Draxler has also been long coveted by the Arsenal hierarchy and his position at PSG looks more precarious after the arrival of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Either player gives Arsenal a younger talent that they can potentially mould into the player that Sanchez is today.

Likelihood: Good idea

Emre Can - Liverpool

Clubs Interested: Juventus, Manchester United

According to Tuttosport, Manchester United have joined the race for Emre Can.

The midfielder has one-year left to run on his current deal with Liverpool.

Negotiations have seemingly stalled between the two parties and Can further fuelled rumours of an exit when he revealed he was proud of interest from Juventus.

The Old Lady are indeed keen on the German, but now so are the Reds' fierce rivals.

It would be a cheeky move by Jose Mourinho to steal Can away from Merseyside. But if he's going to go anywhere, put your money on Juventus.

Likelihood: Buongiorno!
