TRIBAL TRENDS - TOP 5: Arsenal agree Aubameyang fee; Man Utd escape Pogba clause; Enrique to replace Conte;

Seeing as it is deadline day, it is hardly a surprise that transfer related stories have intrigued Tribal readers this week.

The 2018 winter window has been somewhat of an anomaly. The deal that saw ex-Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez trade places with Manchester United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan was one nobody would have predicted.

And there was, of course, Liverpool's club-record sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona. Oh, and Manchester City reaching into their bottomless coffers to buy Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao.

These moves broke the bounds of what this month has come to be defined as: an anti-climatic, all hype and no bluster, and most importantly, an annoyance.

One story that people have been reading all about this past week, if not since last summer, was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's exit from Borussia Dortmund.

German publication Kicker reported on Monday that Arsenalhad agreed to pay €63m for the Gabonese forward.

While the fee amount hasn't been confirmed, Aubameyang is in London and a deal seems likely to be concluded before the deadline shuts at 11pm. But according to reports, it all hinders on whether Dortmund can find a replacement.

An interesting story broke out of Old Trafford last week regarding Paul Pogba.

The Sun reported that Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, wanted to include a parity clause in his Manchester United contract.

This was big news, because had United agreed to this clause, then they would've had to double Pogba's wages after handing Alexis to a £400,000-a-week deal. Nice one Mr. Woodward.

Yahoo Sport have claimed Monaco winger Thomas Lemarcame to agreement over personal termswith Liverpool.

The 22-year-old has expressed a desire to play under Jurgen Klopp and his time with the principality club seems likely to end in the near future.

That future won't be at least until June as Liverpool have refused to meet Monaco's £90million asking price. Bring on the summer chase between the Reds and Arsenal

Tribal's weekly transfers segment was the fourth most popular article viewed this week.

It discussed the top five transfer rumours over the course of seven days. Highlights include Chelsea's swoop for Barcelona youngster Ousmane Dembele and Emre Can's Liverpool future.

And lastly, a bit of a curveball was thrown out of west London, courtesy of The Sun.

They claim Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has lined up Luis Enrique to takeover from Antonio Conte.

The former Barcelona coach and player would become the Russian's 12th manager since he bought the club in 2003. Yikes - make sure you rent Luis!
