Darren Bent admits he feels 'on trial' whenever he steps put onto the pitch for the England national team.
The Aston Villa striker has scored three goals in his past four Three Lions appearances but ahead of Saturday's meeting with Spain at Wembley Stadium feels he will again be on trial to perform provided he is given a chance by Fabio Capello.
"Every time you play for your country it is like you are on trial, to be honest. If I get selected, hopefully I'll do myself justice and hang onto the shirt," he told Express & Star.
"I've got a few goals recently for England but this is going up another gear. Spain are the best team in the world, who won the last World Cup and the Euros."
