Treble hero Eto'o: God wanted Inter Milan to succeed

Cameroon ace Samuel Eto'o admits he loved his first season at Inter Milan. The former Barcelona striker finished the campaign with three trophies.

Eto'o said: "I myself was surprised. June and July were difficult for me. I didn't understand much of what was happening.

"But, you know, football is so complicated that, sometimes, you mustn't try and understand it.

"The important thing is that I found another family in which I rapidly felt at ease. In the end, God wanted that my team and I won all the titles.

"Every victory is beautiful. Last year in Barcelona I had the chance to be part of an exceptional group. I left and found another exceptional group.

"This winter, I had a problem for two months on account of a blow I took to my left foot during the African Cup of Nations. But in the end, everything paid off. It was the fruit of the group's work. I am happy that I had to suffer to get there."
