Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has ruled out calling up Sunderland sensation James McClean anytime soon.
He insists he had to stay loyal to players who helped seal Euro 2012 qualification.
Trapattoni said: "I was in touch with James on Thursday and I have seen him many, many times. I spoke to him and I said congratulations, he said thank you. We have the assurance he can play for us and I said '100 per cent you will be with us in the future''.
"We begin for the Euros now and all of this squad deserve to come with us first.""He deserves to be followed, like Pilkington and Duffy, but for our balance and stability we must wait. Maybe if our injury situation is worse, then we would call them, but only then.
