Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has made an emergency call to QPR captain Martin Rowlands.
The Italian tactician has re-called Rowlands for the World Cup qualifying double-header with Italy and Montenegro beginning on the weekend.
30-year old Rowlands has won just three caps for Ireland but Trapattoni has included him in the squad following uncertainty in regards to fitness of Steven Reid and Darron Gibson.
Rowlands is seen as back up for the duo as a holding midfielder.
