Djimi Traore has criticised the coaching methods of English managers in the Premier League.
Traore spent seven years with his first English club, Liverpool, but after disappointing spells at Charlton and Pompey he is now hoping to resurrect his career back in France.
"I wanted to come back (to France)," he told L'Equipe.
"I want to start playing again and have some fun.
"I left Liverpool because I hardly played, so I was not prepared to sit on the bench at Portsmouth.
"I have only been loaned to Rennes, but in my mind I have already said goodbye to Portsmouth.
"I learnt my trade in England under a French coach and then a Spanish one, where we were preparing for the game at the weekend all week long.
"With the English coaches the management was quite different. There was no specific preparation.
"I have no regrets about signing for Liverpool as I got to play with some great players. I can say that I have experienced the English game."
