Gareth Bale's protracted transfer to Real Madrid is being stalled by a transfer chain involving Fiorentina's Adem Ljajic and AS Roma's Erik Lamela.
The Tottenham ace is on the verge of joining the Spanish giants from Tottenham for close to £90million but Spurs want to secure Lamela from Roma before giving that move the all-clear.
In addition, Roma want to replace the departing Lamela with Fiorentina attacking midfielder Ljajic which has caused a bottle neck at the top.
Spurs are prepared to £30m for Argentine forward Lamela whilst the Giallorssoi are keen to secure Serbian international Ljajic as soon as possible.
