Tranmere Rovers defender Danny Holmes admits he would love to make the move to Celtic if it were a possibility.
The 23-year old full-back is being heavily linked with a summer transfer to the Scottish champions with his agent confirming the interest of the Parkhead club.
"But with Tranmere exercising their one-year option I will only be contacted if the clubs agree a deal.
"We know of Championship interest but Scotland is the better option and Celtic is a club he would be extremely interested in joining.""A number of clubs are chasing Danny and one of those clubs is Celtic," said Jonathan Hope.
And Holmes hopes that Tranmere and the Hoops can come to an agreement on a fee so he can make the move to Glasgow.
"Like any other player I want to play at the highest level and if a club as big as Celtic want me and agree with Tranmere Rovers, then I'll be delighted to move to Scotland.""At present I am a Tranmere Rovers player and will continue to give 100 per cent to the club," Holmes told the Daily Record.
