Tranmere eyeing Kilmarnock boss Shiels

League One club Tranmere Rovers are believed to be interested in Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels.

The Prenton Park outfit yesterday sacked Les Parry after falling to 19th on the tier three table and have added the Killie boss to their shortlist of candidates.

Shiels served the Rovers as head of the youth development from 2007 until he joined Mixu Paatelainen's team at Rugby Park in June 2010. He took over from the Finn in April 2011.
