Torrential rain in Townsville will not cause the postponement of tonight's North Queensland Fury versus Wellington Phoenix clash.

The Dairy Farmers Stadium surface has copped plenty of water in the past few days but ground staff have been able to prepare what they believe will be a playable pitch.

There has been no rainfall since this morning indicating that the game will go ahead which the Fury will be hoping for after giving around 10,000 tickets away for the match.

The Week 20 fixture kicks off at 7:15pm local time (8:15pm AEDT).
