QPR winger Andros Townsend is backing Tottenham teammate Jermaine Jenas to impress at Loftus Road.

Townsend, who followed Jenas from Spurs to QPR in the January transfer window, reckons a fully-fit Jenas will be a key figure in the Rs' battle against relegation.

He told the Fulham Chronicle: "Everybody knows what Jermaine can do - he's been a great player over the years wherever he has gone.

"We won't see the best of him until he's fully fit, but once he is, his experience will be a great asset for us in a difficult couple of months coming up.

"Obviously I know him from Spurs, and he was a great person for the young players to learn off there - hopefully he can do the same at QPR."
