Kolo Toure has hailed the inspirational qualities of Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez.
He rates Tevez as City's Lionel Messi - and believes he thrives on being the captain and figurehead.
At United, Tevez's record was 34 goals from 95 games but 26 of those were as substitute.
Toure added: "We hope he can score his 50th there for himself, the team and the supporters.
"Carlos thrives on being the main man. He didn't have that at United. That's why I think he's happy now.
"When he used to play for United, Rooney and Ronaldo were above him. Here he is No 1. He loves the responsibility of being our main goalscorer. He's our Messi. He's got 49 goals in two seasons.
"He's scoring, working hard for the team and we're really glad to have him. He's doing a great, great job.
"At Arsenal we had Thierry Henry and he was on fire like Carlos is now. It's really good to have a striker like that because you know they are going to score."
