The Eastlands outfit, who took out the 2011/12 Premier League title, are into the Champions League knockout stage for the first time this season after failing at the past two group stages of Europe's premier club competition.
Ahead of their Round of 16 meeting with Barcelona, star midfielder Toure feels City has what it takes to take on and beat the world's best.
"To make history sometimes it takes longer," Toure told Weekend Warm-Up on Sky Sports News.
"I am a lucky man to be in the right place because the club have brought in fantastic players.
"Everything is in a good place to be honest, and I'm sure in a couple of years Man City will become the greatest club in the world."
